Gah! *slaps forehead*

That test pilot thing made me think "Like Ace Rimmer, then. Hmm, what characters like Ace Rimmer do I know?" while failing to entertain the obvious...

I guess the lesson we're learning here is that, no matter how easy you may think it is, it may not be so easy to others.

Anyway here's my entry:
1- a fawn/satyr.
2- a used car salesman.
3- a circus front man.

I'm going with James McAvoy, based solely on the fact that he was Mr Tumnus.

EDIT: Also, your sig's my favourite Bit of Fry and Laurie too - nearly fell off my chair when I watched that DVD.

Geena Davis wasn't a detective in The Long Kiss Goodnight, she was a government assassin.

Leslie Nielsen, however, played the US President in Scary Movie 4, a detective in the Naked Gun series, and a vampire in Dracula: Dead and Loving it.

Correct, but not who I meant, though I should really have checked her IMDB page since I knew about the two Elizabeth movies.

Let me add the following hint:

At least one of the queens is fictional.

There's Judy Parfitt. She played the Queen in Ever After, Queen Katherine in King Ralph, Queen Lilian White on "The Charmings", and the Red Queen in Alice Through The Looking Glass.

Dame Judi Dench?

Queen Elizabeth in Shakespeare in Love
Queen Victoria in Mrs Brown
Queen Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream

and I had to look up that last one.

Judi Dench, yeah, a classical actress. Well, if it falls to me, then here's (what I think will be) an easy one:

* A masochist with an appetite beyond dental reach.
* A professional predictor with perfect knowledge of tomorrow.
* A contagious nutcase turned psychiatrist.

Billy Murray,

1. Little shop of horrors.
2. Groundhog day (though technically, he has perfect knowledge of today, given that tomorrow never comes.)
3. What about Bob?

Yes, Bill Murray it is. You're right about the "tomorrow" issue, and I was liberally interpreting tomorrow in the POV of the character.

Anyway, give us another, Eytan.

Yup.

Well, I was thinking Chinatown for the detective role, but The Pledge is equally correct and you got the actor right.

By the way, a question - what do people think about descriptions that contain spoilers? What about spoilers for movies that are still in the theaters? Should those be avoided?

So far as spoilers go, I don't want to have to make a specific rule about things like that. I will only ask that you use good judgement. I don't want to overly limit what you can say about a character, but I would like to preserve the first-time movie experience for all those out there. (Especially since this game is rather geared towards those who truly enjoy movies and such.) If anybody feels strongly about this, just let me know and I can add that rule to the list at the beginning of this thread.

Anyways, here's my list:

1- a Texas land owner slowly descending into madness
2- a vindictive sea captain
3- a weapons master on an arid planet

You got it.

Have at it.

On a side note, I didn't intend it that way, but all three of the characters I listed were based off of previously existing works that are often considered classics in their respective fields. (In case any of you didn't know, King of Texas was based on Shakespeare's King Lear, hence the character 'John Lear'.)
