Yes, it's possible. You can't solve the room if you don't enter from the west.

I'm wondering if we're talking about the same room here. West of 1E in this hold is the Entrance, and there's a huge green door that drops as soon as you clear the Entrance.

Is this the room you're talking about?

This hold has backtracking problems. If you're already at the east entrance, then it's impossible for you to return to the west entrance without restoring to an earlier point in the hold and having to replay rooms later.

Yes, that's the room all right. I've entered from the east and can't do anything from there. I'll see about replaying some of the rooms then.
