As you may have noticed, my avatar is rather ugly at the moment. Because I lack the photoshop/paint/gimp fu to be able to fix the scaling issues, I'm going to have to request that someone else do it.

Rules
The modification must be based on my current avatar.
This is it in its full glory
:blowup

I will be the judge of which one makes it.

Timing
Submissions are open until I say otherwise. Which is when I have found a suitable avatar. Note that if I do decide, a entry that fails to make the submission time may be used at my digression.

Prize
The winner will be allowed to input any thing he wants (keeping in line with the forum rules) into my signature. As well as a few mod ups when I can. This remains applicable for as long as I use your avatar.

Tips
The maximum avatar size is 60x100.

I guess it gets resized to fit the avatar's 60x60, height and width independently.

Try this one - it's 112x112 so it should be resized to proper proportions at least:

(if you want to perpetuate this foolishness, at least it should be properly proportioned)

I think you want your avatar in 60x60, actually.

Here's a quick resize done in GIMP - at least it looks better than what you have now...

EDIT: Actually, resizing a 120x120 image down to 60x60 and sharpening the smiley a bit might work even better...

I agree, a improperly scaled :blowup is ugly.

True, but if someone finds a way to use up the extra 40x60 area, I'm not complaining.

Nice. Anything you wish to add to my sig?

Why, I ask you, why must you use an animated avatar? The things are so damned distracting.

You can turn off the animation in Internet Explorer 7. Under Tools, select Internet Options, select the Advanced tab, scroll down to Multimedia, and clear the "play animations in web pages" box.

(I discovered this when I was trying to turn off Flash animations. Instead it froze all the smilies.)

There's a similar option for Firefox, and in case of an emergency you can always hit escape to halt all animated GIFs on a page.

I guess a simple "Wait... this thing is on?" in front of the blowup-smiley in your sig should do... :)

(At least that's what came to mind first... hey, it's waaay past midnight (again) already... :lol)

You can always use adblock or adblock plus to directly block the image.
