So apparently the ending of TCB is a ginormous secret whose keeper is this Frolem guy and his brother Mr. X. So clearly I can't just put my thoughts in secret tags. What, then, can I do?

I believe the thing Erik wrote about not sharing with anybody was only for the details about how to answer the challenge of passage. I wouldn't expect any problem with discussing the plot of TCB, including speculation, after a warning and in secret tags.

Coppro - why put your message behind secret tags? There's nothing in it that's actually secret and all you're doing is blocking people from reading it who'll think there may be spoilers.

I don't think people should be prevented from discussing the ending, if they do so in clearly labelled threads with spoiler warnings in the thread title and secret tags for explicit spoilers. People who haven't reached the end yet should be protected from accidentally spoiling it for themselves, but stopping discussion in order to protect people from deliberately reading spoilers is serious overkill and harmful to the community.
