There are two ways you can handle this problem with level 1, one easy but not something you're likely to pick up on on your own, and the second is something that you're more likely to try the first time but probably won't enjoy (really, they should have stressed conserving bounces in the tutorial):

×The first way involves going back into the tutorial and stealing enough money to upgrade your CPU. Do everything the way you eventually learn to do it (not the way the tutorial tells you at first) and you should be able to get less than 50% on your global trace, which after stealing all $6500 from the atm server is easily reduced right away (or you can wait until level 1 to do so). Getting another 1 GHZ CPU may not seem like much, but it makes it a lot easier to save on the amount of bounces you use, and it's also the only CPU upgrade you can afford to get while maintaining a (semi) perfect score.

×The second way involves using as few bounces as necessary to avoid being traced (this is for the starting setup): for 128-bit encryption and 4-character password cracks you don't need any bounces to avoid being traced, for 8-character password cracks you need 1 bounce, for 12-character cracks, you need 2 bounces, and for 512-bit encryption and 16-character cracks, you need 3 bounces. You should also keep in mind that if a link says it has 1 bounce left, and it disappears when you start a process that uses up bounces, that the timer still registers the effect of the bounce, even if the bounce appears to be gone from the line. Also keep in mind that you should use up bounces on any servers with money in them first, because you can't use them for bouncing in doing transfers (meaning that if you use up other servers first, you'll have less bounces all around for the purposes of getting the money later).
