But... It's GEL. I can't exactly let it grow out to be a different blob of gel. And by the time it's tar, I have to worry about the tar baby...

That's why you need to clear out as much of the top part of it as possible while it's gel, in order to keep a tar baby from forming before you reach it.

You can even set it up so that a baby will grow at a corner and force other babies to grow on the next cycle, so you don't have to worry as long as you don't step into the top row.

So i have cleared room, but one green gel blob 2x2 still remains in south room, so don't get achievement
