Is there some other gimmick to the Aumtlichs that I'm not aware of? Because with the exception of the one that has a place to move, I can't figure out how to kill any of these. I can get to the mirror fine.

When I came to this room I found it impossible for some time, because I didn't know that you could turn your sword when an Aumlicht looks at you.

I have been able to get to the trap door on the east. Then take the tunnel to the west and drop the two trap doors on the west. I return to the east but can't get to the last door on top. I am obviously doin something wrong. I haven't been able to get to the mirror. I assume it must be needed but where and how?

I am obviously being overly dense here as I can't even get to the east tunnel, my guess is that I am not using my sword efficiently, could someone help out with some good hints on how to get there, or a demo of just to that tunnel then I can go on from that, have read all the posts but they aren't helping me at the moment. Never step where two beams cross. You'll never escape.

Provided that there is no orb within reach that will close a door blocking one of the beams, or a monster about to move in the path, or tarstuff about to grow to block one of the beams, etc.... ;)

Also, in DROD, there is always an exception or workaround to everything. Except, currently, the Beethro character can't move on walls.

I have somehow managed to get through this room without completing it. Now I've finished a bunch of levels to the west - and I'm trying to get back... Is there any way to get back through this room from the west entrance with the Aumtlichs still in it (seems impossible to me!) or am I going to have to load my game

i don't think that it is possible to conquer or solve the room from the west. the top-most aumtlich and that one second-most west are spotting on the same field (near the western entrance). so you can't pass it.

Thank you Blondbeard I don't think I ever would have figured that out on my own. I got out of one room by jumping on the closing wall. I now wonder if the intended solution involved just this manuver.
