Qiestion, is there anyone elso who can get the bomb.png to work? I only get the biggest explosion graphic.

I will gladly answer your Qiestion.
I included the graphics, but I didn't make it animated.
To make it animated, you have to make the bomb character turn, starting at north and going clockwise, stopping at the last sprite.

A similar design is used for the healthbar.

EDIT: only the current "developer" is allowed to work, to prevent simultaneous updates. So Timo006's update is illegal, especially indicated by the fact that his file is smaller than Vittro's.

Now that I want to work on it ;). I get it now, so it won't happen again.

updates:-fixed a bug issue with slayer and bombs.
-added a bomb-throwing graphic.

It may not look much, but I've worked a few hours on it and I had to change the slayer script completely.

Besides, it is weird that my file is smaller because I used Vittro's hold to build on.

I updated/fixed some stuff:

- I made the bomb animation one single character with a loop.
No idea why it was so weird.
- When you die, you now go to the high scores room, and once you're inside, you can't go back anymore.
- I changed the monsters in such a way that there's only one npc for each type of monster.
- I'm working on getting blood to appear via an invisible die npc.
- I'm working on the healthbar.
- I fixed the bomb-refiller script so you can refill as often as you want, got rid of the uneccesary End command.
- I'm going to add a shop in wich you can buy bomb bags and weapons.

I still need the media packlet though, I'm working on a different computer right now.

This is the new version, it is based on the new version of Vittro and I have Insane's permission to work on it, as I will be in londen for the next three days. this includes

-new working sword attack sequence, you only have to use one NPC per monster as I used invurnerability and a sound from JtRH (used with Caravelnet's permission.
-changed the exp. points from goblins and slayers and the health from goblins.
-fixed a bug: script didn't added more than one level.
-amount of exp. needed for levelup now grows per level.
-world larger
-battle exit now possible in the 2 new rooms.
-High score room: changed to 31 turns - level.
-every room now in city style.

I was just looking at your scripting, to see if you had it also and you do! In the cheats place, the character who verifies the code has two rectangles as one of the variables!

this is the third version of Drod: The RPG.

Changes:

-added a credit room, it is the room where you exit the hold.
-total of four cheats available now!
-added amount of Mattack to every monster.
-Brand new Beethro red & blue made by Insane, no darkness bug!!
-added darkness tiles to the highscore room.
-Gobling cave able to enter.

This is the new version.

changes:

-made it so that your maximum level is 30. (can be changed)
-succeeded in making semi-random attack values using some simple math!! I'm pretty proud of it!

note: school is starting again, so I probably be unable to work on the hold until 6 PM (+1GMT).

EDIT AGAIN: I just can't believe we made a hold of 2MB!!

It's a fascinating concept :) Reminds me of the old Final Fantasy games. One slight issue/problem...? Is the healing supposed to be always free? If so, one can just churn back and forth hacking down roaches - wouldn't it make more sense to charge at least a minimal fee for the healing? Makes tactics a little more interesting.

I don't think so, in every RPG I played there was at least one place where you could heal for free, and I can't think for a reason (exept for tactics) why you should pay money for it.

EDIT: Someone Else, just a few things.

1)that bug of 2N is just because the hold is still incomplete. As we didn't put an NPC to change te roomVar and a level entrance in that room.

2)How did you made the damage a bit more variable? I can't see any changes both in the editor and the hold itself.

3)If you make your own version of it, you should use the player file we posted. it is called "Drod the RPG player". Please do that because using that player file is the only way to keep the custom NPC's and the custom floors. Otherwise you ca't fully enjoy the hold.

Huh? What kind of flawed RPGs do you play?

In Final Fantasy I, the very first healing place (Coneria Inn) costs 30 gil per night, and it only gets steeper from there...

Most RPGs I have played do indeed have a heal-for-free place, but often it's only accessible in the beginnings of the game when you're weak, or during certain sections. It's not usually accessible all the time, you usually have to pay.

It depends. You could go for a more nethacky feel where managing resources is all important, or a more console RPG feel where given enough time you could just steamroll everything in your path.
