Help! I know what I need to do, and I've tried mapping it out on graph paper, but I still need a few hints.

In my solution, I generally worked from southeast to northwest; however, the first checkpoint I touched was *not*

I did the graph paper thing too, and then many photocopies (yikes!) of the graph paper to help me eliminate the dead end paths.

I logicked it out on graph paper--I used a nine by nine grid, and made one loop from bottom right to top left, with checkpoint traverses as the eighth crossing. Each line that the path crossed represented one pressure plate.

It took me about an hour to deduce.

Edit: There are at least 4 solutions, and I started with the southernmost checkpoint.

If you number the special pressure plates from the bottom to the top as 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on; the first four I stepped on were 1, then 3, then 2, then the left most 6.

This is actually a puzzle copied from an outside source. The version that I knew first had a story that every gate (pressure plate) that you went rhgouh, you had to go through a special gate (the checkpoints) every 8th gate and you couldn't backtrack.

Yes, Clayton showed me that puzzle one night and wondered if we could make a DROD room out of it. When I showed him what I had made, he wished he hadn't shown me the puzzle.

I find it amusing, that after three times failing to solve it (with help of graphic program), after looking at this simple hint I managed to write the solution almost instantaneously.

Edit: I also wanted to point out that these Orthosquares make it look horribly illegible and messy.
