I can't clear this room... I've gotten lots of hints from the chatroom and I still can't do it... I think I need a demo... unless somebody can give me a really good hint. :~(

you've probably heard this before, but: once you get the speed potion, try circling the statue a lot. guards are easier when they come around corners.

I can't even get the speed potion. It would make life so much easier if I could, though. Maybe all I need is a demo that ends when the potion takes effect.

I really can't seem to beat this room. I can't even get to the speed potion! Any more hints?

Hey Everyone,
I must not understand the mechanics of the enemies of this room but I am getting nowhere... I can't even enter the chamber they are in. Please send some tips or demos my way. This is the first Level I've been completely stuck on even though the rooms weren't particularly hard...

I've looked at your demo - the general approach should work - perhaps you are staying too close to the upper wall on the lower corridor as you work your way along it.

When I was able to enter from the W, the blue gates were up. They did not go down until I got the EXIT LEVEL notice. At that point, I could only enter from the S. Did I miss something here? I can not get to potion when entering the room from the S. Is it possible to do, or is it me? Help please.

You can enter the room from the North, East or West.
From the East is impossible unless you already finished the room.

It's actually a not so bad idea to enter from the South, so that guards com after you. After they come after you, you go to the west, enter the inner chamber from the west and go over the guards and get the potion.

The room is probably possible from both entrances, but it might be easier from one or the other. I did it from the west, FWIW.

If you want to switch entrances to try the other way, just run quickly over to the other exit before many guards can reach you. Leave the room and come right back in. Then all the guards will be where they started again.

Well, it may be an easy room, but I'm not finding it so! :~(

The attached demo is one of many hundreds of variations I have tried without success (it's my only try to date where I actually reached the door, albeit for only a fraction of a second).

Would anyone care to comment on what I'm doing wrong? :blush

I'll give that a try and see how it turns out. :unsure

I can see that the western entrance offers the advantage that the southern door is closer to the potion.
The southern entrance seems to have the advantage of more maneuvering room when trying to get through the door.

In either case, the point seems moot if I cannot make it through a door.

We differ after turning the corner. When I do this room, I stay close to the southern wall of the middle square, until I kill the second guard. (I do step away once to kill the first guard.) If I stay close to the southern wall of the middle square, the guards tend to stay inside the middle square.

In your demo, after turning the corner, you move directly to the southern wall of the whole room. More guards come south out of the middle square and attack you.

When I try to import robin's demo, I get the message "This file was created by a newer version of DROD and isn't supported in this version”. I'm using 3.0.0. Is there are more recent version and, if so, where can I find it ?
PS. This room is horribly difficult.
