It's sometimes happened that I accidentally exit a room while working on a solution. It would be nice if I could simply undo such a move like any other, but right now that only seems to work per room. Its kind of sad that leaving a room is worse than dying. ^_^

I do believe that there is nothing in the works to make this exactly a reality--each room is an entity unto itself, and it would take a lot of computer/coder power to do that.

However, there is a workaround coming in TCB. You can lock the room, which means that Beethro can't leave the room (He bumps into a wall, or something).

Unfortunately, until then, you'll have to be cautious when living on the edge.

I was about to say exactly that. No point now really.

Though...

I do believe that in tCB, you would be asked a confirmation if you exit a room "in the middle of battle". Speculation though...

Wow. The very first feature on both DROD and Wonderquest, but on Wonderquest first.

And now I know why the lock room feature is on Wonderquest. Strange, all I ever saw it was as a nuisance for all those unfortunate enough to press Ctrl.

How does the engine tell when you're "in a battle?"

Really? That would be extremely irritating, to have to click "yes darnit" every time I walk through an unconquered room, or walk into a room and look around and say "er not right now" and walk out, or...

One variation on this that would be helpful to those aiming for high scores: a "reload last room" button. If you're determined to see "1st place" or "1st place tie" every time you clear a room and leave, that means frequently hitting escape, clicking restore and manually selecting the previous room for a replay.

Being able to reset and restart the last room at the push of a button would be nice.

The Wonderquest solution was actually to have the user specify a number of moves, which if the user ended up spending more than that number of moves in the room meant the room would then get locked.

I agree, this would be excellent.
