If I recall correctly you need to plan your steps correctly. Hard to describe, pretty explicit:

×Before getting to the corner you need to use the boomerang to travel out and move back towards you so the eye is one step behind. You have keep travelling and get it move perfect so that the boomerang travels back out to cover the orange switch before the eye moves over it. I hope that makes sense.
That's exactly before the eye reaches the switch as it travels out so you get that extra step(s) you need.
And I think you mean 2S2E...
