Thanks to whomever enlightened me to Avant, I really like it. I end up spending a lot of time in IE because that tends to be our clients most important target browser (though I of course try to make everything work everywhere, the people who pay me are most concerned about IE).

Anyway... I need to be able to see javascript errors, and I can't find them in Avant (maybe I'm just blind...).
With vanilla IE, at the very least I get the icon in the status bar that will alert me and I can click it to see details, and most the time visual studio will trap the errors and let me do some real debugging.

But using Avant javascript errors seem to be completely ignored, and I've waded through the settings and couldn't find a way to change that.

Any pointers?

That would have been me that posted about Avant on the Site board. Glad you like it too...but unfortunately I can't help you with your problem. I did my own search for you, but one thing that Avant is definitely lacking is help documentation. I saw that my Internet Options had "Disable script debugging" checked off, but since that is a Windows control panel and is shared between IE and Avant I am pretty sure that those options are not changed when you run Avant. I think the main website has a relatively friendly forum, have you asked there?

Game on,

Gee, I didn't even see the forum on the avantbrowser.com page, thanks! It turns out I'm not the first to notice this shortcoming. I found a few posts there about it.

So, out of curiosity, is there a solution or a workaround, besides just viewing that page in normal IE?

It was last discussed there in mid-july. I bumped the thread and asked if there was a place to see status of known bugs/feature requests.
I also searched the site... afaik there is no indication of
when they might add this capability to avant. Nor if it's
even on their radar as a priority.
