You need to leave the last snake 2/3 tiles long
then if you go kill the eyes in the right time, the snake will shorten himself to death right as you open the orb.
Just time your attack on the eyes when the snake is a tile before the orb. And remember the snake has to be short (that's just a matter of counting on the other snakes to do your job).

Anyone knows what the mystery of the top left corner is?

I've got a problem with this room, maybe it's a bug of AE, I'm playing with that version of the game.

I can't get rid of the last snake in the NE part of the room. You have two possible choices:
1) let it turn anticlockwise, it's possible to let the snake enter the loop in a way that no roaches will be spawned. The only problem is that when you pull the orb there's no way to let the snake enter the dead end (or maybe I wasn't capable of that).

2) let it turn clockwise, so that when you pull the orb it will easily fall into the trap. This would seem to be the only possible way to kill it, the problem is that it's easy to see that it's matematically impossible to have the snake exactly simmetrically under the 2 roaches when the clock is at 0, so you could try these two alternatives:
2.a) let it be one tile to the right (from to the simmetric position) at 0 , but with this configuration roaches will be spawned;
2.b) let it be one tile to the left at 0.... and now it's the bug! I tried to build a new room with that same exact configuration, when I played it for the first time no roaches were spawned, then I deleted the snake and built it again in the same exact position but now roaches were spawned, then I tried to repeat this sequence again and it's always like this: one time the trick works, the other time it doesn't.

The other problem is that in the hold room it never works for me, am I the only one experiencing this bug? Or maybe there's a different solution and I'm going for the wrong one...(?) Let me know please! :)

Responding to a post from over 10 years ago, but: the issue in the above post is probably move order.

If the snake moves before the roach queens, then it has to move to block the spawning spaces during turn 30.

If the roach moves after the roach queens, then it has to already be blocking those spaces before turn 30 starts.

So it's likely that during the testing, the move order was changed and therefore a position worked in some tests and not in others.

In the room itself, the snake moves first; this means it has to be moving counterclockwise in order to block the spawn, as its head will always be on a white square whenever the queens attempt to spawn.

For anyone struggling to get the snake over there:
