Hi folks,
Just noticed that this hold had been updated and I thought I'd wander around and see what I could improve. All of a
sudden the skies opened and 26 #1 scores rained down on me. I didn't visit 26 rooms nor do I possess those kind of skills. It looks great on the scorecard but they aren't mine. What do you think?

I wouldn't worry too much - that most probably happened because the existing demos are queued for re-verification when a hold is updated; so enjoy the #1's while they last... ;)

I guess they should be gone by now....

What to say? Well, based on the original comments, I was not expecting much. There's more to like than I was expecting. A few decent rooms that take some thought.

Unfortunately, there were a lot of very tedious rooms, long paths to follow that led to nowhere in particular, and a couple of backtracking issues (nothing fatal, but...).

I give the hold a 4 for fun, and 3 brains.

Hey guys I cannot fix it due to the computer that broke down.... IT HAD EVERYTHING ON IT!! :~( I can assure that COM 2 will be much more interesting, fun, the story lines o.k but I can tell you that it will be much better.(probably because COM 1 was my first ever hold. I will remake COM 1 after the trilogy is finished. Anyways have fun and play more DROD ;)

This hold *could* have been far better.... there are lots of boring rooms, pointless rooms and tedious rooms that spoil the fun of a handful of good puzzles which can be found here and there in this hold. The "script scenes" are also a little confusing....

I'll give this hold 4 points and 3,5 brains.

The simplest way to describe this hold is that it manages to break nearly every rule of architecture possible.

Grammar/spelling issues, scripting that doesn't stop when it should, paths on the edge that don't actually go anywhere, tedious rooms, repetitive rooms, annoying rooms, frustrating backtracking issues, the use of master walls in puzzles, unintended solutions, lack of checkpoints and a story that was apparently too complicated for me to understand.

As some others said, there is actually some good stuff here. But it is exceeded vastly by rooms which felt like they were designed in seconds. The hold for me just dragged on and on and on: shortening it by half might have meant I would have not been bored by the end.

4.5 for difficulty, 2 overall.

I found 5 in Mirror World and 1 in The Empire.



What is missing?

The last secret is on its own hidden level, that's why you cannot find it on the Restore screen.

Sadly I have lost all of my demos and saves, so I cannot tell you where to find the stairs to that level with absolute certainty, but from looking at the map and trying to remember, I believe the stairs are located...
