You had to do something similar earlier in the hold...level 10 or 12 I think.

Game on,

Actually, you need to in both levels - level 10 3E and level 12 2N1E.

I am totally stuck with this room.
Get the mimic surrounded by mud in the upper "bridge", so this let me a chance to beat the upper mud later.
But going up and down from lower to middle endlessly, mud grows faster than I move, trying to just hold the mud increasing.
First time I really need a demo :(

This one's about efficiency, I'm afraid - you just have to beat back the mud as effectively as possible, eventually getting to one of the mud mothers.

FINALLY!!! I got it! Thanks for hints & advices. :D
This room was the most difficult for me I think. By the way, is there a grading of difficulty for all rooms?

If you mean something like the "brains" for a hold on a per-room basis, then... no, I'm afraid not.

But somehow I doubt people would rate 350+ rooms if they hardly ever vote for the whole hold nowadays...

np: Root 70 - Get Things Straight (Heaps Dub)

This room is really a bummer for me. I've read all the postings, but no matter which route I take or which rectangle I put the mimic, I can't prevent a rectangle room from getting blocked by mud. Is the answer to enter from the West side? I'm stumped at this point. Can anyone offer any hints?

I remember this room. It was one I hated... until I solved it. And yes, it can be solved entering from the south.

#1 is where I placed my mimic, though I know you can just start it at the #2 mark and possibly others.

As said above, it's mostly about efficiency, but that said, I think the #1 demo for this room solves it in 295 moves, and I used 1099 moves! So much for efficiency. Perserverance works too. Hmm.... think I'm off to improve that score!

Hi!

By the way, is it possible to send a semi-demo, but starting from my bank of victories
(an interrupted demo...)?
Thank you.

Well, you can restore to a checkpoint and hit F4 to record the moves leading there, or you can restore to a checkpoint, hit F5, smite around and hit F5 again to end the demo.

I'm afraid that's all the editing possibilities you have in DROD:JtRH - dunno about TCB, of course... :)

np: Kit Clayton - Track 7 (Lateral Forces (Surface Fault))

Helllppp!!! I am fighting a loosing battle with the mud, and the mimic is not helping me any. I'm placing him in the top room, probably not in the right spot though, but he keeps escaping into hallway with all the mud flowing out behind him, while I'm frantically running between the bottom and middle chambers without making any headway. I've been at this for nearly two days and it's the last room for this level. Could someone please-please post a demo, or very explicit clues?

Sorry, found Demo posted by Briareos. Will give that a go!

Finally, I solved this room; I used a really relaxed
technique courtesy of Pearls, that no-one else in the thread has mentioned.

Use this method if you want to complete the room, but are
really crap at cutting tar with mimics efficiently.

My solution was to enter from the North, put the mimic in the top bridge, go to the bottom bridge, and get a mud baby trapped in the middle bridge. The mimic is cutting mud as I do, and if one or two babies escape and I'm closed off in the third bridge by the mud, they will go to the middle bridge and get trapped there, creating an entrance for me at a later time. The rest is easy peasy. Kill the mud mother in the bottom, then the middle. Usually the mimic has taken care of the mother in the top.
