Help!
On several occasions I found in the H&S area an attached demo for a room where I'm stuck.
So I download this demo and in JtRH I try to import it. Almost immediately I get:
This demo belongs to a hold you do not have
and the import stops.
So evidently I'm making something wrong but what???
If it's not possible to load such a demo when you dont have completed the room, it doesn't make sense to post a demo.
My rank is only roachling but looking at my list of conquered holds I cannot be an absolute newbe.
But there are some rooms I 'm in trouble and a working demo would be handy.

By the way, it's awful how fast sometimes somebody answers to your question!

It probably means that the demo you're trying to import is for DROD:AE (an older version of the game), and not compatible with v2.0. You can always ask for someone to post a newer demo. First make sure to check the Hints threads for both KDD and KDD 2.0.

Did I mention the speed you get an answer? Incredible!

I think this could be the answer, since the last demo I tried was from 2004.

Today I'm crawling though 'The Oversight' level 3 and unfortunately there aren't too many hints!

They're not, but the demos in question are from KDD, and he's playing KDD 2. At least I think that's the case.

Maybe the hold was updated by the architect sometime after the demo was made. Or it could be the demo was made before certain minor rule changes (like queen spawning behavior or how bombs effect orbs) and are invalid. (I'm just guessing here)

Nah. In that case, you can import and watch the demo, but Beethro will get killed during the demo and it'll be flagged corrupted in the local demo list...

Been there, done that, got the scars but no T-shirt to cover them...

Level Claustophobia
Room 3E

The Demo I tried to import was posted in

And the Answer I get is:

A demo beeing imported belongs to a hold that you don't have and was ignored.

Any suggestions to get the demo running are welcome.

Entrapment, you say? I looked at that hold and I had two copies. One of them was conquered, but the other was not. I deleted the unconquered one and nothing strange happened.

So, in short, I have no idea either.

Asger, if this has worked this is my demo as an attachment ( I have'nt tried to do this before). It's not the fastest room clearance ever done, but it is successful. See if that one works for you. It was recorded on 31/3 06.

Thanks Elfstone, but sorry, still the same.

And now I'm a little bit buffled. For in the Holds-Section the posting date for Entrapment shows 10/3/2006. Could it be that the inline-hold is another version???

Then maybe some kind of release-indicator should be present both in the holds and the demos.
