I had to re-download DROD today after getting my laptop back from getting some repairs done, and realized something while the download was going... Just like when I installed it on the computer I was using in the interim, I'm looking at the better part of an hour about to be spent downloading all the SS and user holds before I can install my normal player file again. That's a very, very tedious process, as I discovered last week.

So, here's my suggestion/question. Is there any elegant way to create a 'Download/Update All Holds' option somewhere to save users who are coming in with a new install from having to deal with this tedium? Perhaps something that'll check all holds on a user's install against the ones in the Holds list and download anything that's either absent or updated?

Sure. It's not trivial, but I've added this feature to the DROD 3.0 engine.
