DROD: The City Beneath ScreenshotsThese screenshots are all taken from DROD: The City Beneath, released on April 1st, 2007. Coincidentally, this was exactly two years after the release of DROD: Journey to Rooted Hold Rock Golem's big brothers are in town. Rock Giants are essentially four rock golems combined together. When you stab a rock giant, it will disintegrate into three rock golems and a rock pile, leaving you with more enemies than when you started.Living the High Life Wraithwings are no longer the only entities to be able to fly over pits. Thanks to platforms, you can now travel over pits and water with ease.Hungry Hungry Serpents DROD 3.0 introduces a brand new serpent to the mix. The Adder can eat other monsters, and when it does, it grows in length. Of course, as soon as Beethro's sword comes into contact with its head, then the adder will start to shrink.Mandatory Sheathing Beethro can no longer rely on always having his trusty Really Big Sword™ by his side, as Oremites cover the ground in various places in the City. Of course, that means that no one can have their sword out either, but it certainly puts Beethro on the defensive. Spin Me! Various architectural tokens have been added to the game play, one of which being Force Arrow Rotators. They rotate all the force arrows in a room either clockwise or counter-clockwise, depending on the token. You can also see the pretty new colored lighting in the 3.0 engine.Superhuman Vision Tar mazes are a thing of the past, thanks to the new Vision Token. Not only does it allow you to view through tar, but it also gives you access to the the sight of evil eyes. You can also see a couple of mirrors as well. They act as pushable blocks, and reflect the gazes of aumtlich and evil eyes. |
